Born in 1946, Ken grew up in a middle-class home in Richland, Washington. The importance of a strong work ethic, family, , music, imagination, education, and fun made up the fabric of his life. After college and four years of seminary, he served as a minister for over forty years, learning the importance of verbal communication along the way. His wife, Jennifer, and three daughters have done their best to teach him how to communicate, he hopes with some success. The Bode stories are an attempt to help parents and young children begin to develop a style of communication that will serve them well over the years to come.
